Sergeant Todd Waddell
Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Todd Waddell on his retirement after 25 years of dedicated service to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office!
Sgt. Waddell began his law enforcement career in May 1999 and graduated from the academy in August of that year. In February 2000, he became the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Boiling Springs High School. After two years, he transitioned to the SRO role at the Boiling Springs 9th Grade Campus, before returning to Boiling Springs High School in 2006, where he remained for 19 years.
In 2013, Sgt. Waddell was honored as the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office SRO of the Year, a testament to his outstanding commitment to the safety and well-being of the students and staff. His leadership was further recognized when he was promoted to Sergeant of the SRO Division in April 2019. That same year, he was appointed to the SCSO Honor Guard.
After serving as Sergeant of the SRO Division for the past five years, Sgt. Waddell retired yesterday, October 4, 2024. He will be taking on a new role as Director of Security and Director of Facilities at View Church in Boiling Springs, SC.
We wish him the best of luck in his next chapter and thank him for his years of dedicated service!
