Sheriff Chuck Wright has been made aware of a SCAM going around where individuals are being called and asked for money to be sent to a gentleman posing as a Spartanburg County Deputy. Sheriff Wright would like for everyone to know that neither the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office nor the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division will speak to anyone over the phone about Warrants, nor will they ever SOLICIT or REQUEST money over the phone in lieu of fines. THIS IS A SCAM! If anyone has been contacted by anyone representing themselves as a Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Deputy or a Law Enforcement Officer requesting money or a money card be sent to them, we are asking those individuals to contact the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office at 864-503-4501 and file a report.
