02/12/2018 - Man charged with stabbing located after manhunt

At approx. 1:00 PM today, numerous deputies responded to Varner Rd. in Woodruff. The initial call was to assist a fire department at the scene of an automobile accident. Upon arrival on the scene, deputies discovered the female driver of the vehicle had been stabbed in the abdomen, which caused her to wreck her vehicle. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery for her injuries, and at present, her prognosis is good. Victim identified her attacker, as did several witnesses at the scene, who saw suspect go into a house on Varner Rd. Deputies surrounded the house, and our SWAT team also responded to the scene. Communication was initially established with the suspect until he stopped talking with our officers. After several hours, the SWAT team made a forcible entry into the house, but the suspect wasn’t located. With the assistance of several citizens, the stabbing suspect has been located and arrested without incident in the area of Miller Rd. in Woodruff. He is Bobby Ray Brown, II, W/M, 232 Varner Rd., Woodruff, SC, 29388. Brown is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Attached above is a previous booking photo of him and a redacted copy of our incident report. Copies of the warrants are not available at this time. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the victim for her continued recovery from this incident.
