03/01/2021 - Three Arrests Made in Homicide at Local Apt Complex

 

On December 21, 2020 at approximately 9:46 PM, deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s office responded to 1000 Pinegate Dr. in Spartanburg South Carolina in reference to a shooting. Upon their arrival they located the victim Rodderick Sparks lying on walkway of Building G. Sparks was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased from a single gunshot wound to the back. Rodderick Sparks was a student at USC Upstate and he was originally from Winnsboro, SC. Evidence at the scene suggested the incident may have been related to illegal narcotics. As the investigation progressed, it revealed the following individuals were involved.
1. Tyshawn Isaac Gray Jordan, 19, of 506 Sierra Ridge Dr Moore, SC
2. Marquese Dashawn Tart, of 900 Heath Lane Apt 17 Spartanburg, SC (originally from Mullins, SC)
3. Trajan Jasiah Mack, of 300 Elders Pond Drive Columbia, SC
On February 9, 2021, Investigators presented the case to the Spartanburg County Solicitor’s Office and suspect Jordan was charged with numerous counts. Jordan was charged with the following: Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling.
Tart was charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony A,B,C, or Murder
Mack was also charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony A, B,C, or Murder.
Once warrants were issued, Tart was taken into custody at his residence on February 10, 2021. Mack turned himself into deputies at the Spartanburg County Detention Facility on February 11, 2021. Investigators learned that Jordan had fled the state and he was subsequently taken into custody during the early morning hours in Springfield, Massachusetts. Agencies involved in the apprehension of Jordan included the Springfield Police Dept’s Warrant Apprehension Unit, the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit, and the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend its appreciation to the agencies and officers involved with Jordan’s apprehension.
