On 3-4-17 Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1247 McSwain Rd in Chesnee in reference to a Check the Welfare of a Citizen call. Through their initial investigation once they arrived on scene, the officers located the body of James Earl Sprouse, white male, DOB 4-11-59 in a wood line near the home. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators as well as Investigators from the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office were requested and responded to the scene. Through their investigation, Amy Nicole Taylor, DOB 12-5-84 of the same address was arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. She is currently being housed at the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility.
