07/01/2021 - Narcotics arrest man with large quantity of drugs

The Spartanburg County Narcotics Unit was conducting an active investigation into the drug activities of Randall Dewon Armstrong, B/M, 27 years old, 1600 Keats Dr., Spartanburg, SC, 29301.  On June 30, 2021, a traffic stop was conducted on Armstrong.  During the stop, deputies located a large sum of US Currency on his person and a digital scale that field tested positive for methamphetamine and placed inside a jar of baby formula. Investigators were able to execute a search warrant on Armstrong’s apartment that he used as a stash location.  During the search, Investigators located the following:

--9,019 grams of methamphetamine

--10.916 pounds of what Investigators believe to be MDMA/Ecstasy (173 individual plastic bags)

--833.5 grams of marijuana

--9 grams of blue tablets of what Investigators believe to be pressed Fentanyl

--5 firearms

--$46,210.00 US Currency

At the time of the arrest, Mr. Armstrong is currently out on home detention for attempted murder in Cherokee County.  This case was a result of cooperation between Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, Home Detention, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.  Randall Armstrong was charged with the following:

Trafficking Meth over 400g

PWID Marijuana

PWID Half Mile of a School

Possession of Weapon during a Violent Crime

Possession of Weapon by a Violent Felon

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is going to seek a warrant for violation of home detention.
