08/14/2014 - Sheriff Recognizes three Retirees at Luncheon

Sheriff Chuck Wright recognized three Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Employees today at a Retirement Luncheon in their honor.  Today marked the beginning of retirement for Deputies Ted Beatty and Chris Durham along with Administrative Assistant Jean Epps. The three retirees combined for a total of 83 years of Service to the citizens of Spartanburg County. Each was recognized for their  years of service and were presented plaques from Sheriff Wright commemorating their time at the Sheriff’s Office.

Jean Epps – Jean served as an Administrative Assistant with Sheriff’s Office beginning her duties in 1987, serving a total of 27 yrs.

Sergeant Ted Beaty – Ted began his career with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s office in 1978 and has served continually as a Deputy Sheriff. Ted has served in several capacities to include: Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigation Division, and Sergeant of the Hazardous Devices Unit.

Master Deputy Chris Durham – Chris began his career with South Carolina Department of Probation, Pardon, and Parole in 1994 before beginning his duties as  Sheriff’s Deputy in 1999. Chris has served in several capacities to include: Uniform Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and School Resource Officer.
