Yesterday our violent crime investigators made a second arrest in the homicide of Lamar Douglas Jones that occurred on Blanchard Rd. on November 14, 2021. Jaylan Romunt Whiteside, B/M, 17 years old, 308 Dafodil Circle, Moore, SC, 29369 was charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder and Arson – Third Degree. Despite the fact he is a juvenile, Whiteside was charged as an adult to the severity of his offenses and booked into the detention facility at approx. 7:35 PM last night. He will appear before a magistrate for bond arraignment at 2:00 PM this afternoon. Despite this second arrest, our investigation remains active, and more arrests are possible.
